Biography - Teresa Clark
Senior Director of Leadership Gifts
As Senior Director of Leadership Gifts, Teresa is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for securing philanthropic support from individual donors determined to have the interest and ability to create transformative opportunities through their gifts. In this role she develops and manages a portfolio of individuals, primarily working with the President of the Sphinx Organization.
Teresa began her development career at Sphinx previously holding several leadership positions and coordinating the organization’s inaugural gala at Carnegie Hall. Before returning to Sphinx, Teresa was Executive Director of the Association of Independent Michigan Schools and Director of Development for the LEAD Scholars program, a recruitment scholarship promoting leadership, excellence, achievement and diversity at the University of Michigan. With a strong belief in giving back, Teresa has lent her expertise through volunteer board and staff training, pro bono assistance and speaking in the classroom. She has also been an invited speaker and consultant, sharing her knowledge and passion for development and campaign strategy, non-profit leadership, scholarships and philanthropy.
Teresa graduated with Honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree. There she was a steering committee member of the student/faculty group Academics for Affirmative Action and Social Justice (AAASJ).
