Isaac Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall

Join us in celebrating the Sphinx Virtuosi at Carnegie Hall concert series!

This performance will feature the critically acclaimed all Black and Latino Sphinx Virtuosi, a self-conducted ensemble comprising alumni of the Sphinx Competition. Last year’s inspiring concert sold out to an audience of nearly 3,000 and The New York Times described the 2015 performances as “richly hued” and “dynamic.”

2016 Program

Latin Voyages: Viajes Latinos takes the listener on a journey, a quest from the tantalizing Argentine tango to the nocturnal imagery of Mexico, a grand tribute to the great Piazzolla, with a final invitation to a Catalan dance. We invite you to explore the great palette of the string medium through the prism of celebrated composers of Latin heritage as well as those heard more seldom. Celebrate the intricate mosaic of sounds and colors that pay homage to our vastly diverse heritage through music!

Afterglow Reception

In addition to the inspirational and unique concert, immediately following the performance is an exclusive afterglow reception, which includes a strolling dinner and an opportunity to meet the artists. Sponsorship levels are available (see below) for this evening of artistic excellence, which directly support Sphinx’s music education programs and efforts in the New York and tri-state area.
