Audrey Cox St. Clair

Director of Arts Partnerships | New York City Public Schools

Audrey Cox St. Clair serves as Director of Arts Partnerships of the ARTS Office, New York City Public Schools. Currently, Audrey facilitates sustainable partnerships between the 1600 public schools and the hundreds of arts and cultural institutions in New York City. Previously, Audrey served as Arts Coordinator for the Office of Arts and Special Projects where she co-facilitated the organization and planning of the Chancellor’s Strategic Arts Plan and served as a facilitator in Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education for Arts Office staff.

Prior to her role as Arts Coordinator, Audrey served as the Teachers College Community School Liaison at Teachers College, Columbia University.  In this capacity, she collaborated with community-based organizations, cultural institutions and higher education to direct STEAM programs for students in grades Pre-K thru 6th grade. Under her direct training and supervision, thirty teaching artists developed an arts based curriculum that allowed student’s artistic talents to thrive.

Before moving to New York City, Audrey served as a music teacher in public and charter schools teaching music theory and chorus. In 2008, Audrey was crowned Miss Black North Carolina USA 2008 where her platform T.E.M.P.O (Together Education and Music Produce Opportunity) allowed her to advocate for arts funding at the state level, direct student performances and create sustainable partnerships with arts based organizations. A graduate of Spelman College, Audrey is an arts advocate and administrator that has created sustainable arts programs for elementary and middle school students, designed STEAM programming in rural and urban schools and advocated for high-quality arts education for students. Audrey looks forward to bringing her insight and experience to the 6th Cohort of Sphinx LEAD!
