Explore Teaching Artistry with Eric Booth

Learn more about this special session!

Teaching Artistry expands your artistry to find new ways to reach audiences, new tools to connect to audiences who may not (yet) love the music you love, to secure more work with additional skills that a wide range of employers find valuable. This session will ground you in the fundamentals of the practice, and get you started on discovering your own journey as an teaching artist.
The session is free to those registered for SphinxConnect – sign up now!

Have your problem solved during Marshall Marcus’ SphinxConnect Diversity Surgery!

Have you ever wanted to be able to use the energy and knowledge of the audience at a conference to help you meet your challenges?

Bring a problem to the surgery – in this case a challenge that you have associated with bringing greater diversity to your project or organization – and the challenge is analyzed with your audience! Think of it as a free consultancy using the astounding expertise that can be found in every SphinxConnect audience. If you want to make progress, get us to do the work with you in the first ever SphinxConnect Diversity Surgery.
If you are interested in pitching your diversity challenge in the surgery session, send your challenge (250 words max), to SphinxConnect@SphinxMusic.org by December 29, 2017!

SphinxConnect Video Initiative

Want to know more?

In an effort to provide educational and professional resources to our community, Sphinx is producing a series of short, dynamic videos as an extension of SphinxConnect. These videos will compile ideas and advice from industry leaders, similar to what happens in sessions at SphinxConnect, into short, dynamic videos.
We hope these videos prove to be helpful resources!

Sphinx Orchestral Partners Audition (formerly SAQA) will provide musicians of color with the unique opportunity to play an audition for a panel representing several orchestras. The immediate aim of the experience is to identify musicians for invitation to auditions, pre-advancement at auditions and/or placement on substitute player lists. An additional immediate aim is to align participating musicians with needed support. The ultimate goal of this initiative is job placement for musicians of color in American orchestras. Applicants need not be Sphinx alumni.

  • Upload a video of your SOPA excerpts HERE
