Announcing the 2022 Sphinx Medals of Excellence Recipients
Congratulations to the three recipients of the 2022 Sphinx Medals of Excellence: pianist Michelle Cann, violinist Randall Goosby, and soprano Karen Slack.
The Sphinx Medal of Excellence is the highest honor bestowed by the Sphinx Organization and comes with a $50,000 career grant.

Through competitive grants, Sphinx Venture Fund catalyzes initiatives designed to solve a challenge or an issue related to DE&I in the performing arts sphere, with an emphasis on classical music. Applications due September 30.

The application is now open for Sphinx LEAD, a two-year professional empowerment program designed to evolve the landscape of arts leadership. Applications due October 20.
Apply Now – Sphinx Competition
Applications are open for the 25th Annual Sphinx Competition for young Black and Latinx string players. Applications due October 20.
I am just in awe of what Sphinx has accomplished, but even more excited about its future.
