Jacqueline Rodenbeck, 17, is an American-Mexican violinist born in Tucson, Arizona. She began studying the violin in 2013 at the Tucson Youth Music Center with Kathryn Harpainter and later Anna Gendler. Since then, she has worked with former University of Arizona professor Timothy Kantor, former Tucson Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Lauren Roth, and Professor Danwen Jiang at Arizona State University. Currently, she takes lessons with Dr. Elena Chernova-Davis at the University of Arizona. Jacqueline is the former concertmaster of the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra.
In 2025, Jacqueline won first prize in the junior division of the 28th Annual Sphinx Competition in Detroit, performing as a soloist with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra. She is also a multiple top prizewinner in competitions across Arizona, including the Oracle Chamber Music Competition, TPYO Scholarship Competition, MTNA Arizona State Competition, Phoenix Young Musicians Competition, COT Young Artists Competition, SASO Youth Concerto Competition, and TSO Young Artist Competition, after which she was featured on News 4 Tucson KVOA-TV. Internationally, she has won top prizes at the Bach International Music Competition, International Moscow Music Competition, and the Clara Schumann International Competition (chamber division).
As a soloist, Jacqueline has performed with numerous regional orchestras, including the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Pima Community College String Orchestra, and Arizona Symphonic Winds.
Since 2016, she has attended renowned music programs and festivals across the country, including the Heifetz International Music Institute, Sphinx Performance Academy, Encore Summer Academy, Curtis Network Mentor Program, Oracle Chamber Music Festival, the Kennedy Center’s NSO Summer Music Institute, and Carnegie Hall’s NYO-USA summer program.
In April 2024, she was featured on NPR’s acclaimed program From the Top (Show 445) which showcases the music and stories of America’s best young classical musicians.
Beyond music, Jacqueline is also a state-level cross country runner and a gifted alto vocalist, earning first chair at Arizona Choir’s regional auditions in 2025. In her free time, she enjoys reading fantasy novels and exploring her passion for plants and animals. Her past performances can be found on YouTube under Jack Beck Violin.
