Jacqueline Rodenbeck is an 18-year-old American-Mexican violinist from Tucson, Arizona. She began studying violin in 2013 at the Tucson Youth Music Center with Kathryn Harpainter and later Anna Gendler. Since then, she has worked with distinguished teachers, including former University of Arizona Professor Timothy Kantor, former Tucson Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Lauren Roth, Professor Danwen Jiang of Arizona State University, and Dr. Elena Chernova-Davis at the University of Arizona; she currently studies with Professor Aaron Berofsky at the University of Michigan. Jacqueline is the former concertmaster of the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra.
In 2025, Jacqueline won first prize in the junior division of the 28th Annual Sphinx Competition in Detroit, where she performed as a soloist with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra. She is also a multiple top-prize winner in competitions across Arizona, including the Oracle Chamber Music Competition, TPYO Scholarship Competition, MTNA Arizona State Competition, Phoenix Young Musicians Competition, COT Young Artists Competition, SASO Youth Concerto Competition, and TSO Young Artist Competition—after which she was featured on News 4 Tucson KVOA-TV. Internationally, she has won top prizes at the Bach International Music Competition, the International Moscow Music Competition, and the Clara Schumann International Competition (chamber division).
Jacqueline has performed as a soloist with major national orchestras, including the Sedona Symphony Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the New World Symphony, and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. She has also been featured with a wide range of regional orchestras, including the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, the Pima Community College String Orchestra, and the Arizona Symphonic Winds.
Jacqueline is the 2025 recipient of the National Arts Club’s Herman and Mary Neuman Music Award, which honors outstanding achievement by a young artist.
Since 2016, she has attended renowned festivals and programs across the country, including the Heifetz International Music Institute, Sphinx Performance Academy, Encore Summer Academy, Curtis Mentor Network, Oracle Chamber Music Festival, Kennedy Center’s NSO Summer Music Institute, Carnegie Hall’s NYO-USA program, and the Juilliard Summer Orchestra program. In April 2024, she was featured on NPR’s acclaimed program From the Top (Show 445), which highlights the nation’s most talented young classical musicians.
Beyond music, Jacqueline is a state-level cross-country runner and second-prize winner in the Female Under-20 category at the 2025 Tucson Marathon. She is also a gifted alto vocalist, earning first chair at the Arizona Choir regional auditions in 2025. In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys reading fantasy novels and exploring her passion for plants and animals. Her performances can be found on YouTube under Jack Beck Violin.
