Venezuelan composer and guitarist, born October 29, 1938.


Eric Colón is a Venezuelan composer and guitarist born October 29, 1938, in Ghent, Belgium. Colón studied under Andrés Segovia in Santiago de Compostela, and furthered his guitar studies graduating from the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena, Italy. After being La Dernière Heure’s professor of guitar and music critic, Colón settled in Caracas, Venezuela, graduating with a compositional degree from the Escuela de Música José Angel Lamas. He then became director of the Escuela de Música Pablo Castellanos of La Guaira and the Escuela de Música Antonio Estévez.
