José M. Meza

Associate Director of Education | Los Angeles Master Chorale

José M. Meza is an arts administrator and artist from Los Angeles, California, driven by a personal mission to share the power of the performing arts with as many people as possible. A Los Angeles native, José is deeply connected to the communities he serves and is committed to building accessible, high quality choral experiences across the region. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Arts in Music Industry Administration, grounding his work in community-centered leadership and thoughtful program development.

José is the Associate Director of Education at the Los Angeles Master Chorale, where he helps lead the education programs and guide long-term visioning for the department. Under his leadership, the department has more than doubled its engagement numbers and strengthened its commitment to accessibility. He is actively shaping the future of the department through intentional planning that expands impact and deepens connections with the broader LA community.

He is also the General Manager of SNS Choirs, a choral organization in the Antelope Valley. Through season planning, marketing initiatives, community engagement, and fundraising, José has helped build SNS Choirs into an organization that welcomes over 100 singers each year and presents multiple full-house concerts. His work includes establishing a donor base, guiding artistic direction, and securing grants and individual gifts that support the organization’s continued growth.

In addition to his administrative work, José has a background in choral music and opera and actively performs throughout Los Angeles. He has appeared as a soloist in major works with choirs across the region and continues to perform as a chorister with several LA-based ensembles, work that keeps him closely connected to the art form he champions.

José continues to strengthen his leadership through national programs such as Chorus America’s Choral Executive Leadership Academy and the Summer Music Leadership Academy at the Eastman School of Music. He is excited to join Sphinx LEAD, where he looks forward to learning, growing, and expanding his impact within the music industry.
