Rae Pérez De Vine

Director of Learning and Community Engagement | Manhattan Theatre Club

Rae Pérez De Vine (she/they/Rae) is an arts educator, narrator, and cultural worker who engages with the arts primarily as a vehicle for healing and building community. With over 25 years in the arts and culture sector as a performer, Teaching Artist, and administrator, she has worked (in English and Spanish) with community-based and arts organizations serving New York City public school students, as well as artists, educators and activists, adoptee and refugee youth, and deeply believes in the transformative power of the arts in education.

Rae recently joined Manhattan Theatre Club as their new Director of Learning and Community Engagement, and is thrilled to be working in service of such a staple in the theatre community, who has also in many ways been at the heart and helm of arts education in New York. Prior to MTC she was the Manager of Education and Engagement at the Metropolitan Opera, where she supported the curation, production, and execution of the National program, HD Live in Schools, managing the partnerships across 70 districts. Of particular note, while in her role, she facilitated the first ever HD Live in Schools partnership with Puerto Rico in the opera company’s history. She has also held positions at Theatre Development Fund, The DreamYard Project, National Dance Institute, Broadway Advocacy Coalition, and Harlem School of the Arts.

Rae was an Innovative Cultural Advocacy Fellow with the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI), and received her Master of Music in Classical Voice from Manhattan School of Music and her Bachelor of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College where she studied Theatre and Sociology. She is a Sphinx LEAD Fellow, an alum of the Penguin Random House Audio Narrator Mentorship, and serves on both the Theatre and Music Advisory Boards for the Bronx Music Heritage Center. Rae is also a proud member of Actors’ Equity.
